Allies Intern • Austin, Texas
As a small entrepreneurial team, we customize our internships to match your skills and strengths with our needs and challenges. Interns work on projects and activities that are central to our mission to protect freedom and dignity. Please share your interests, areas of expertise and availability in the form, and we’ll be in touch.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Internship opportunities extend across disciplines, including marketing and communications, programs, partnerships, data, technology, operations, and more. Depending on your expertise, you may be running marketing or fundraising campaigns, researching or analyzing data, coordinating outreach, engaging with partners, managing our Hubspot CRM, updating our website, developing content, providing operational support, or working on special projects.
SKILLS:
We are a team of self-starters with a collaborative and supportive culture. Our interns add to that culture with their unique skills and perspectives. What do we look for? Team players who care more about the success of the mission than personal recognition. Self-starters who drive projects independently, take big ideas or goals and successfully achieve outcomes. You see common themes, make connections, solve problems, and make things work better. You believe every challenge has a solution, even if it’s not yet clear. You pay attention to detail, have high standards for your work, and believe that a job isn’t done until it’s done right. You may be an undergraduate or graduate student, just starting your professional career or embarking on a new journey. You’ve had exposure to nonprofits, social enterprises or other work that contributes to our mission. You are proficient or can quickly learn tools such Excel, Hubspot, Google Suite, Slack, WordPress or Mailchimp.
COMMITMENT:
Interns may work from 10-40 hours per week, and we’re flexible to accommodate your class or work schedule. Start and end dates vary based on your availability and our needs; we prefer a commitment of at least 3-4 months. Work may be virtual or in-person; for the latter, you will need access to transportation. Internships may be paid or unpaid depending on the circumstances. For unpaid internships, we’re happy to work with your institution to provide academic credit.
