Jul 21, 2025
Allies Against Slavery is proud to announce that its President and CEO, John Nehme, will be a panelist at an anti-human trafficking forum, “Approaches to Combating Human Trafficking,” on Monday, July 21, at the U.S. Chamber's headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The forum will bring together leaders from government, business, and civil society to explore innovative, data-informed strategies to combat human trafficking. The event is open to the public and press, with both in-person and virtual attendance options.
Nehme will speak during the session titled “Data Methodology and Aggregation” from 8:45 a.m. to 9:05 a.m., alongside fellow panelists Dr. Shelly A. Wagers of the University of South Florida and Rochelle Keyhan, CEO of Collective Liberty. The panel will be moderated by Markee Johnson of A21.
During his remarks, Nehme will highlight Allies Against Slavery’s pioneering work in aggregating and analyzing human trafficking data to inform policy and resource allocation. He will discuss the organization’s partnerships with the Governors and the Attorneys General in Texas and Louisiana, as well as its 18-month collaboration with the University of South Florida’s Trafficking in Persons at Risk to Resilience Lab in Florida.
“Allies Against Slavery is committed to making the invisible visible,” said Nehme. “By leveraging data at both the national and state levels, we can identify gaps in care for survivors and more effectively target resources where they are needed most.”
The forum is sponsored by Counter Forced Labor Technologies, Justice U, Viiision, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Countering Human Trafficking. Attendees will include representatives from federal agencies, NGOs, state and local governments, survivor-led organizations, and private sector leaders from industries such as hospitality and transportation.
