Empowering Change-Makers: Allies Against Slavery Partners with ICF Austin for Leadership Coaching

May 15, 2025

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership between Allies Against Slavery and the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Austin Chapter! This collaboration marks a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to support and develop our team members who are dedicated to combating human trafficking and creating lasting social impact.

Investing in Our Greatest Asset: Our People

At Allies Against Slavery, we recognize that our most valuable resource is our people. The passionate individuals who make up our organization bring unique talents, perspectives, and dedication to our mission of leveraging technology and data to fight human trafficking. This new partnership with ICF Austin will provide our team members with professional coaching services designed to maximize their potential and effectiveness in their roles.

This partnership comes at a critical juncture for our organization as we experience significant growth and expansion. As Allies Against Slavery enters this high-growth phase, we recognize the importance of not only scaling our operations but also nurturing our organizational culture and developing our people. If we are to be successful in this next chapter, we must ensure our team grows alongside the organization, equipped with the tools and support needed to navigate change while maintaining our core values and mission focus.

Professional coaching offers a powerful framework for personal and professional growth, helping individuals identify and overcome barriers, clarify goals, and develop actionable strategies for success. Through this partnership, our team will have access to experienced and ICF-credentialed coaches who can help them navigate challenges, enhance their leadership skills, and maintain their wellbeing while doing the demanding work of social justice.

Selected for the 2025 ICF Ignite Initiative

We are especially honored to share that Allies Against Slavery has been selected as a 2025 ICF Ignite project by the ICF Foundation, the social impact arm of ICF. The ICF Ignite initiative specifically targets organizations supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) that are working to accelerate positive impact on the planet and humanity. Being selected for this program not only validates the importance of our mission in advancing these global goals but also significantly amplifies our case through visibility on the ICF Foundation’s global map and communications.

This recognition from the ICF Foundation creates opportunities for greater awareness of human trafficking issues and our data-driven approaches to combat it. As an ICF Ignite project, Allies Against Slavery joins a network of impactful organizations working toward sustainable development and positive social change across the world.

What This Means for Our Work

This partnership represents more than just professional development for our team—it's an investment in our mission. By supporting the wellbeing and effectiveness of our staff through professional coaching, we're strengthening our organization's capacity to create meaningful change.

The work of combating human trafficking requires resilience, innovation, and sustained commitment. Professional coaching provides tools and strategies that help our team members maintain their energy and focus while continuously improving our approaches and systems.

The Partnership in Action

Our coaching journey is already underway! In April, our team members were matched with ICF-certified coaches, and we kicked things off with a virtual meet and greet. The team has had an initial discovery session with their coaches, establishing the foundation for this transformative relationship. As our staff continues to engage with their coaches over the coming months, they'll receive personalized support aligned with their roles and goals. We look forward to sharing stories and insights from this partnership as it develops and as our team members experience the benefits of professional coaching.

We extend our deepest gratitude to ICF Austin and the ICF Ignite initiative for recognizing the importance of our work and supporting our team through the gift of professional coaching. Together, we are creating a future where freedom and dignity are possible for all people.
