Allies Against Slavery Awarded Prestigious 2025 GrantTank Grant by The Jensen Project to Scale National Anti-Trafficking Data Platform

Aug 8, 2025

Austin, TX — August 5, 2025 — Allies Against Slavery, a national leader in data-driven anti-trafficking innovation, has been named a 2025 GrantTank recipient by The Jensen Project. This highly competitive and transformational grant will fuel the expansion of Lighthouse, Allies’ flagship data platform, accelerating efforts to combat human trafficking across the United States.

The grant will enable Allies to scale Lighthouse into a national infrastructure that empowers communities, service providers, and policymakers with the data they need to identify, prevent, and respond to trafficking more effectively.

“We believe in funding technology that can save lives,” said Janet Jensen, Founder and CEO of The Jensen Project. “Similar to The Jensen Project, Allies Against Slavery is committed to collaboration and sharing survivor-centered solutions. We’re proud to support their vision!”

Allies Against Slavery’s expansion strategy is anchored in a bold, three-part vision to illuminate and eradicate human trafficking:

  • Allies will lead a national network of partners to establish shared data standards and a charter for collaboration that can transform how the anti-trafficking field works together.

  • The platform will grow and scale by integrating new data sources, including demand-side and legal datasets, and deploy AI models to detect trafficking patterns with greater speed and precision.

  • Allies will deliver high-impact research, including its annual State Human Trafficking Report and real-time policy briefs, to inform legislation, policy, deliver legal insights and hold traffickers accountable.

“With The Jensen Project’s support, we’re scaling Lighthouse into a national platform that brings together survivors, technologists, policymakers, and service providers,” said John Nehme, CEO of Allies Against Slavery. “Together, we’re building a future where data drives justice and every survivor’s story informs systemic change.”

Lighthouse helps address a national crisis by illuminating the problem and providing insights that drive solutions. In many communities, trafficking data is outdated, fragmented, or inaccessible, leaving frontline organizations without the tools to act. This grant directly addresses that gap by enabling Allies to:

  • Catalyze a national culture of data collaboration

  • Expand access to actionable, real-time intelligence

  • Empower evidence-based decision-making across sectors

“Too often, the national conversation around trafficking is dominated by sensational headlines and high-profile cases,” added Nehme. “But trafficking is happening in communities across the country every single day in ways that are far less visible but no less devastating. This grant allows us to shine a light on those hidden realities, equipping local organizations with the data they need to intervene earlier, respond smarter, and ultimately prevent exploitation before it begins.”

This partnership underscores the power of collective action and survivor-led innovation in the fight against human trafficking. Allies is deeply grateful to The Jensen Project for investing in a future where every community has the data it needs to prevent trafficking before it begins.
