Film Screening: A Path Appears

KLRU - TV, also known as Austin PBS, is hosting a screening of the film A Path Appears on January 6th at Windsor Park Branch Library. After the screening, Allies will co-lead a panel discussion about sex trafficking in the Austin area. 

Synopsis: A Path Appears goes to the USA, Colombia, Haiti, and Kenya to reveal the incredible adversity faced everyday by millions of women and girls, while also presenting glimpses of hope and change. KLRU's screening will focus on Part 1 of the series, which focuses on sex trafficking.

A Path Appears, from the creative team that brought you the groundbreaking series Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, premieres January 2015 on PBS. The three-part documentary series follows Pulitzer Prize winning journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn along with actor/advocates Malin Akerman, Mia Farrow, Ronan Farrow, Jennifer Garner, Regina Hall, Ashley Judd, Blake Lively, Eva Longoria, and Alfre Woodard.
